Contribution of BRTC's Chittagong Training Center to Building Skilled Manpower (2000 – 2022)
Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation is a state transport service organization. Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation was established as per Ordinance No-7 of 1961. This institution, damaged during the liberation war, was reorganized in 1972 under the direct guidance of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and BRTC started its journey in a new guise. Along with passenger and goods transportation, this organization has been playing a positive role in creating work-oriented manpower for the vast unemployed population of the country by providing training in various trades. BRTC has been playing a significant role in creating skilled drivers and craftsmen through driving training, motor mechanism training through Chittagong Training Center. BRTC imparts training to 8,055 male trainees and 602 female trainees till 2022. Besides, training has been provided to 2136 trainees under various institutions. All these trained drivers are playing a helpful role in building safe roads and are gaining reputation as skilled manpower at home and abroad. At present the SEIP project, Directorate of Women and Child Affairs is taking training of various trainees in the training institutes of BRTC across the country.
